DIY Mailbox

Sometimes the littlest things can make your life so much easier. My problem in my house is all of the mail piled up everywhere. When I say everywhere, I'm talking EVERYWHERE!! It's in our bedroom, kitchen and living room. Sometimes I find it in the dog's bed...? So when I saw this idea, I got up from my computer immediately and made it. Finally, a place for my mail and it was so easy to make! You have to check this out if you have a similar mail dilemma in your home.

Become part of the Mom Spot Vendor Directory!

Attention Mom Spotters!!!
I am putting together a Vendor Directory for Mom Spot and I'm looking for any of you Moms that have local businesses. Do you sell Mary Kay, Avon, Scentsy, etc? Do you have a side photography business? How about an Etsy shop? All businesses are welcome! Depending on how many listings I have in the directory, each week, I will randomly pick a vendor to showcase on Mom Spot and on the Mom Spot Facebook page. Interested? Here's what you need to do:

Send an email to spotformom@gmail.com and include a short advertisement for yourself that will be posted on the directory. Make sure and list contact info and your website! Once your business is listed, you will be able to email promos you are running any time and I will update your listing on the page.

This is completely FREE! If you have a friend or know of anyone that might be interested in becoming part of the directory, please pass this information on to them.

Halloween Safety

With Halloween right around the corner, make sure to keep in mind these important safety tips when taking your little ones out to trick or treat:

  • Kids should only go to well-lit houses and remain on porches instead of going inside
  • Have full name and phone number attached to child's costume if they are too young to remember them
  • Bring treats home before eating so an adult can inspect them
  • Costume accessories should be flexible, not rigid or sharp
  • Use flashlights and have children wear reflective gear so cars will be able to see your group in the dark
  • Prepare your home for trick or treaters: clear sidewalks and porches of any obstacles, mow lawn
  • Drive slowly on neighborhood roads
  • Look carefully when backing out of driveways
  • Have children exit the car on the curb side and not traffic side
Not sure of a safe place to take the kids trick or treating? Here are some places in your area that will be holding trick or treating events:
