Would you like to lend a helping hand to those affected by the fires in Bastrop?

Here are some places that will accept donations in San Marcos:

• Dick's Classic Garage, at 120 Stagecoach Trail, serving as a drop-off point for donated items for Bastrop and Smithville. Items can be left from 10am-6pm. Call 512-878-2406 if you have questions.
• Griffith Ford is accepting non-perishable items. A donation box is located at the front of the showroom and donations can be dropped off during normal business hours.
• The West San Marcos 4-H Club is collecting toiletry items, used towels and bed linens today only. Ccall 393-7877 for more info.
• Texas Health and Racquet Club has a drop box for clothing and non-perishable items. Donations can be made today until 2 pm.
• Car hops at San Marcos area Sonic Drive Ins are accepting water, Gatorade, diapers, baby formula and ready-to-eat meals like stew or chili.
